Armenia's ruling party dominates parliamentary election Tsarukyan’s party exits early

Armenia’s ruling Civil Contract party, led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, won nearly half of the vote in the parliamentary election, according to preliminary results released on June 8, while Gagik Tsarukyan’s Prosperous Armenia is set to remain outside parliament.
After ballots from 1,477,736 voters were processed, Civil Contract won 49.825% of the vote, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
Strong Armenia came second with 23.281%, followed by the Armenia Alliance with 9.934%.
Prosperous Armenia received 3.996% of the vote, according to the preliminary results, falling short of the threshold required for parliamentary representation.
Prosperous Armenia is led by oligarch and businessman Gagik Tsarukyan.
