Armenia’s security depends on strong armed forces, says PM
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stated that a strong and combat-ready army remains the central guarantee of Armenia’s security and long-term peace.
Speaking during a meeting with residents of the city of Hrazdan, Pashinyan emphasised that military strength is essential not for conflict, but for preserving stability and preventing aggression. His remarks were reported by Armenian media and cited by Caliber.Az.
“Our army is needed first and foremost for peace. We are preparing for peace because we understand that a strong and defence-capable army is very important for peace. A country that does not have a strong and defence-capable army may become a temptation for aggression. Therefore, we must always have a strong and defence-capable army, but its task must be to protect the internationally recognised territory of Armenia. And this is a guarantee of security and peace, this is a guarantee that we will pass our state from generation to generation,” Pashinyan said.
