Armenia says it suspends talks on strategic partnership with Iran
29 March 2026 17:13
Work on a comprehensive strategic partnership document between Armenia and Iran has been temporarily suspended due to the escalation in the Middle East, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said during a media briefing broadcast on local channels.
“At the moment, this is not under discussion. A visit had been planned, during which the document was to be addressed. For now, there is no talk of moving forward with it,” Mirzoyan stated, per Armenian media.
On February 6, Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani confirmed that both countries were working on a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement.
