Armenia sees arrest of former deputy head of General Staff

The court has arrested former Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Tiran Khachatryan.

Khachatryan is accused of negligence, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

To recall, former First Deputy Head of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces Tiran Khachatryan repeatedly criticized Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for his actions during the 44-day war and after it.

In January 2024, General Khachatryan opened fire in a restaurant, injuring one person. Khachatryan was detained, but was later released.
