Armenia settles arms purchase issues with Russia Minister's statement
Armenian Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan has said the main issues related to the purchase of arms from Russia appear to have been resolved.
Hovhannisyan made the corresponding remarks at a press conference, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.
The minister reminded that discussions on such issues are not subject to disclosure, but noted that as far as he knows, all major issues have been resolved.
"At least, I have not received signals from my partners in the Defense Ministry that any issues remain," the minister said.
Armenian authorities have previously said that Russia has not delivered arms and military equipment under the contract under which the funds were transferred. The exact amount was not officially named.
According to some sources, it is about $250 million, according to others - about $400 million. On January 28, Deputy Defense Minister Hrachya Sargsyan said that there are issues that are being discussed, but solutions will be found for them.
