Armenia сould lose up to 40% of trade if it leaves EAEU STATISTICAL SERVICES DATA
Armenia could face significant economic losses if it withdraws from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), according to data from statistical services cited by Armenian media.
The reports, cited by Caliber.Az, indicate that up to 40% of the country’s total trade turnover is tied to the EAEU, highlighting the bloc’s substantial role in Armenia’s external trade.
In 2025, Armenia generated approximately $2.9 billion from trade with Russia alone, underscoring the importance of bilateral economic ties within the union.
Overall, Armenia’s trade turnover with EAEU member states reached $8.2 billion. By comparison, trade with the rest of the world stood at $13.2 billion.
These figures show that the EAEU accounts for about 38.5% of Armenia’s total foreign trade, suggesting that an exit from the bloc could lead to considerable disruptions in trade flows and economic activity.
