Armenia to cover EU, UK, Canada import duties for exporters
Exporters of fruits and vegetables from Armenia will receive full compensation from the government for import duties in the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Canada, according to a decision adopted at a government meeting on June 4.
Deputy Minister of Economy Arman Khojoyan presented the measure, noting that the government began providing such compensation in February 2025, but only for processed goods, not fresh fruits and vegetables, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
The new decision expands the scheme to include fresh produce as well.
Khojoyan clarified that this support measure does not replace another policy also approved at the same meeting, under which exporters of fresh greenhouse tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, and flowers will receive assistance in accessing alternative markets, taking into account restrictions introduced in Russia.
