Armenia to involve foreign intelligence service in military export licensing

28 July 2026 15:17

Armenia plans to involve its Foreign Intelligence Service in the licensing process for the import, export, transit and brokerage of military products.

The relevant draft resolution has been prepared by the country's Ministry of High-Tech Industry, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.

The proposal would amend Government Resolution No. 1308-N of November 12, 2009, which defines the list of military products and regulates the licensing procedures for their import, export, transit and brokerage activities.

Under the current regulations, Armenia's Foreign Intelligence Service is not among the state bodies responsible for providing the opinions and information required during the licensing process.

The draft also proposes adding the Foreign Intelligence Service to the relevant annexes of the resolution, placing it after the State Revenue Committee in the list of participating government agencies.
