Armenia and Türkiye have held their second meeting of the joint working group to restore the historic Ani Bridge on the border between the two countries.

The two sides reaffirmed the importance of the Protocol on the Joint Restoration of the Historic Ani Bridge, signed on May 4, 2026, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

They agreed to continue efforts aimed at the swift implementation of the agreement.

Armenia and Türkiye signed the restoration protocol on May 4 during a ceremony in Yerevan attended by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz.

The signing took place as part of the first meeting of the joint working group on the restoration of the Ani Bridge.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan first announced plans for Armenia and Türkiye to restore the border bridge during a joint press conference in Ankara on February 15, 2023.
