Armenia, Türkiye progress in normalization talks at border meeting
Special envoys from Armenia and Türkiye convened for their fifth meeting at the Margara-Alijan border crossing point.
Ruben Rubinyan, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, and Ambassador Serdar Kılıç led the discussions aimed at advancing the settlement process between the two nations, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian media.
The Armenian Foreign Ministry reported that the envoys reaffirmed the agreements reached at their previous meetings.
Additionally, they agreed to evaluate technical requirements in response to regional developments, facilitating the opening of a border checkpoint on the Akhurik/Akyaka railway border crossing.
Another significant outcome of the meeting was the mutual decision to simplify visa procedures for holders of diplomatic and official passports.
The envoys concluded their discussions by reiterating their commitment to continue the normalization process without preconditions, striving towards a comprehensive resolution of bilateral relations.
