05 August 2026 13:18

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Aryeh Lightstone, Senior Adviser to the US Special Envoy for Peace Missions, to discuss the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative and broader bilateral cooperation.

The meeting was also attended by Konstantin Sokolov, Chairman of the Trans-Caspian Enterprise Fund, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

The sides highlighted the progress achieved since the Washington Peace Summit held on August 8, 2025, emphasizing that the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan has created new opportunities to unlock the region's development potential. They also discussed additional steps aimed at strengthening and sustaining regional peace.

Mirzoyan and Lightstone welcomed the momentum generated by recent high-level exchanges and the implementation of agreements reached between Yerevan and Washington. They noted the continued advancement of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Armenia and the United States, which they said has been driven by the implementation of the three memoranda signed in Washington a year ago.

Among the initiatives reviewed were expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence and the launch of the AB Factory data centre as part of the first phase of the Firebird AI megaproject.

The officials also explored opportunities to deepen cooperation in trade, economic development, and efforts to strengthen Armenia's economic and energy resilience.

Regional connectivity featured prominently in the talks, with both sides discussing ways to capitalize on existing competitive advantages and accelerate the implementation of the TRIPP program. They underscored their shared interest in advancing the initiative as quickly as possible and exchanged views on the most effective means of integrating Armenia into the international transport and infrastructure network.

The meeting also covered a range of other issues of mutual interest.
