Armenian Armed Forces continue personnel reshuffling - media
Armenian Hraparak newspaper has said that the personnel reshuffle in the Armenian Armed Forces continues.
“The personnel reshuffle in the Armenian Armed Forces continues. Several new appointments have been made recently. The most significant was the dismissal of first Deputy Chief of the Armenian army’s General Staff, Lieutenant-General Kamo Kochunts,” the article by Hraparak says, Caliber.Az reports.
He is one of the old generals of the Armenian army, having served for 30 years. After 60 years, Kochunts was dismissed from his post and was replaced by Colonel Artur Yeroyan the former head of the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Academy. Karen Grigoryan and Timur Shahnazaryan, the other recently appointed deputy heads of the General Staff, are relatively young personnel.
According to our sources, new changes will take place in the coming days. Among the military, opinions on the new appointments vary. Some officers believe that they are necessary to rejuvenate the army, to add new blood. Others believe that Pashinyan's government is using every opportunity to create an unstable, volatile situation in the army. It is clear that frequent personnel reshuffles do not contribute to raising the morale of our servicemen," the article notes.
