Armenian army to adopt French military uniform model

News has emerged in the Armenian media that a French model is to be introduced as part of a change in the uniforms of the Armenian army.

According to some reports, the uniforms will not resemble the current uniforms in either appearance or quality.

"The Armenian Ministry of Defence is trying to change the uniforms of the Armenian army personnel as part of the developing relations with Europe, especially with France. The reason is that the army uniforms have not been changed for a long time and have become easily accessible to everyone," Zhokhovurd daily writes, per Caliber.Az.

The newspaper sent a request to the Ministry of Defence to find out what is being discussed with the French side regarding the change of army uniforms and what processes are being carried out. The Ministry replied that the study of the uniforms of the partner countries was still ongoing. In order to obtain a sample selected as a result of the study, a tender will be issued in accordance with the procedure prescribed by law. According to the schedule attached to the contracts concluded as a result of the tender, the batches of uniforms can be handed over to the personnel of the Armenian armed forces," the newspaper writes.
