Armenian authorities detain another opposition journalist
Authorities in Yerevan have detained another journalist from the opposition publication Antifake, Ishkhan Hosrovyan.
Hosrovyan’s lawyer, Ruben Melikyan, confirmed the arrest on social media, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
The move follows searches conducted on the morning of November 13 at the Antifake office, which came after the detention of Vazgen Sagatelyan and Narek Samsonyan, hosts of the podcast Imnennim. Later the same day, journalist David Fidanyan was also taken into custody.
Melikyan said that Hosrovyan contacted him to report his detention. He is currently being held at a police station before being transferred to the Investigative Committee.
The arrests follow allegations of disorderly conduct linked to a complaint by Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan, who claimed the hosts had insulted him.
The podcast recently featured former President Serzh Sargsyan, attracting widespread public attention.
