Armenian authorities expose illegal aviation fuel trade from Iran
Armenia's State Revenue Committee (SRC) has uncovered an illegal scheme involving the import and sale of aviation fuel from Iran, with authorities estimating losses to the state budget at approximately 870 million drams ($2.3 million).
According to the Committee, the operation involved nine specially established companies that imported substantial quantities of aviation fuel from Iran into Armenia, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
Investigators allege that the imported fuel was subsequently sold to various individuals and businesses across the country without the issuance of invoices, allowing those involved to evade taxes and conceal the transactions from authorities.
The alleged scheme is estimated to have inflicted losses of around 870 million drams ($2.3 million) on the Armenian state budget.
