Armenian authorities restrict separatists’ event in Yerevan

Armenian authorities have expressed opposition to a “cultural event” dedicated to “Artsakh,” scheduled for January 18 at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex in Yerevan, according to the Hraparak newspaper.

Citing an unnamed source, the paper states that representatives from the National Security Service (NSS) met with the event organisers, Caliber.Az reports. 

Initially, they attempted to dissuade the organisers from holding the event. When the organisers refused, the NSS reportedly warned them against turning it into a political demonstration or allowing it to become the scene of a public scandal.
