Armenian authorities to restrict access to report on 44-day war
Access to the report prepared by the parliamentary inquiry commission of Armenia’s National Assembly on the 44-day war will be granted to a limited number of institutions.
Andranik Kocharyan, head of the commission and member of the ruling Civil Contract party, said in response to questions from opposition deputies that an agreement had been reached with the staff of the National Assembly to transfer the 16,000-page materials to the First Department, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian media.
“A decision will then be made regarding which state structures will be granted access to these materials. They will have the opportunity to study them and make relevant decisions,” Kocharyan explained.
The list includes the Prosecutor General’s Office, the National Security Service, and the Ministry of Defense. Lawmakers, he added, will also not be excluded from the process.
The commission head further noted that the “top-secret report” is of great importance for drawing and formulating conclusions.
