06 June 2026 10:10
Armenia’s Central Election Commission has rejected a request to disqualify the “Strong Armenia” bloc, led by businessman Samvel Karapetyan, from the country’s parliamentary elections, according to Armenian media cited by Caliber.Az.
The appeal was filed by representatives of the pro-Western “Republic” party on June 5, two days before the scheduled vote.
“The Central Election Commission decides to reject the appeal of the ‘Republic’ party demanding that the registration of the ‘Strong Armenia’ bloc be declared invalid,” CEC Chairman Vahagn Hovakimyan said.
The decision allows the bloc to remain on the ballot for the parliamentary elections set to take place on June 7.
