Armenian contract servicemen fleeing army due to low salaries

Voskan Sargsyan, a former journalist of Aravot newspaper, has said that the resignations of Armenian army contractors serving in the border military units of the Tavush (Tovuzgalin) region continue.

“Many contract servicemen are dissatisfied with the fact that civil servants, in addition to high salaries, receive large bonuses from the state budget, while the salaries of contract servicemen of the Armenian Armed Forces are very low and are not raised,” Caliber.Az quotes the journalist as saying on his Facebook page.

Sargsyan writes that the majority of contract servicemen do not wait until the end of their contract with the Armenian Defence Ministry and write applications for resignation before the term expires.
