Armenian court holds closed-door hearing in opposition party leader case VIDEO

A court hearing in the case against Andranik Tevanyan, leader of Armenia’s "Mother Armenia" party, is being held behind closed doors.

Tevanyan is charged with espionage and treason in a case that also involves his political ally, Aregnaz Manukyan, who has been arrested, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media. 

According to the indictment, Tevanyan allegedly passed classified information from a closed session of Armenia’s National Assembly to a Russian centre through Manukyan in 2024.

The authorities have not publicly disclosed the details of the classified information allegedly transferred or provided further details about the Russian centre mentioned in the indictment.

The court is continuing to examine the case in a closed session.
