27 March 2023 12:22
Armenia’s Criminal Court of Appeals has upheld the lower court’s decision to arrest in absentia former Armenian Defence Minister Vigen Sargsyan.
The statement came online on the Armenian judicial bodies' Telegram channel, Caliber.Az reports, quoting Armenian media.
Sargsyan is currently residing in the US and has been placed on the wanted list.
Sargsyan's earlier complaint was dismissed by the court.
Armenia’s Prosecutor-General's Office previously announced that Sargsyan had been charged and a petition for arrest had been submitted to the court, according to media outlets.
According to investigators, the former defence minister abused the distribution of flats to servicemen in 2016-2018.
