Armenian Dashnaks in US blame Washington for "weakness" over Bono's statements
The Armenian Dashnaks entrenched in the US have slammed the US State Department senior adviser Louis Bono for his statement that Washington does not intend to impose any sanctions against Azerbaijan.
Caliber.Az reports, citing the Armenian media, that Aram Hambaryan, executive director of US Hay Dat, linked Bono's words to "US weakness."
“Bono, in his first public speech, removing the issue of discussions around sanctions against Azerbaijan from the discussions, signals the weakness of the United States,” Ambaryan said.
During his visit to Armenia this week, Luis Bono said in an interview with one of the media outlets that the United States would not apply sanctions against Baku because of the situation on the Lachin road.
“I am here to work with both sides, to lead them towards peace. Sanctions will be very ineffective. At the moment, this is not even being discussed,” Bono said.
