Armenian defence chief receives top French distinction

Armenia’s Minister of Defence, Suren Papikyan, has been awarded the Legion of Honour during an official visit to France, according to Armenian media reports cited by Caliber.Az.
Papikyan announced the honour in a statement published on his Telegram channel, noting that the award was granted by decree of French President Emmanuel Macron.
“Today, by decree of French President Emmanuel Macron, I was awarded the Legion of Honour of the French Republic,” he wrote.
The decoration was awarded in recognition of Papikyan’s contribution to the development of Armenian-French relations.
The insignia was presented to him by French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu.
