Armenia’s Defence Minister Suren Papikyan commented on the decision regarding military training exercises for citizens arriving from Russia to take part in the country’s parliamentary elections.
He stated that Armenian citizens who are liable for military service and travel from abroad to vote have not only rights but also obligations toward the country, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
When asked whether relevant instructions had already been issued by the Ministry of Defence leadership or Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Papikyan replied: “We are on vacation.”
Papikyan himself also participated in the parliamentary vote, casting his ballot at one of the polling stations.
