Armenian defence minister oversees start of winter military draft PHOTO
Armenia’s Defence Minister, Suren Papikyan, visited the central enlistment centre on 7 January as the country’s winter military draft got underway.
During the visit, he was accompanied by First Deputy Defence Minister, Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant-General Edvard Asryan, Deputy Defence Minister Grachya Sargsyan, and heads of key departments involved in the conscription process, Caliber.Az reports.
Posting on his official Facebook page, Papikyan said he inspected the work of the draft commissions and spoke with conscripts, wishing them a safe and successful service.
He added that he had received reports on preparatory work, medical examinations, and other draft-related procedures. Papikyan instructed officials to ensure the process is conducted properly and respectfully.
