Armenian defence ministry employee killed in road accident

An employee of Armenia’s Ministry of Defence has been killed in a road accident in the Gegharkunik region. 

The crash occurred on December 15 at around 8:30 a.m. local time on the Yerevan–Sevan–Ijevan highway. The victim, identified as 24-year-old Gagik S., was driving a Mazda when he lost control of the vehicle at the 72nd kilometer of the road, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media. 

The car veered off the roadway, crashed into trees, and rolled down an embankment. The driver died at the scene from his injuries.

Authorities have opened a criminal case, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
