Armenian Defence Ministry scandal: Officers accused over fuel theft

Officers of the Armenian Ministry of Defence are facing charges for stealing diesel fuel from a military unit.

The Anti-Corruption Committee has completed its preliminary investigation and sent the case to court, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

According to the committee, the deputy commander of a battalion, together with a warehouse manager, misappropriated and sold 700 litres of fuel, with assistance from a platoon commander.

They later attempted to sell an additional two tons of fuel, but the warehouse manager was soon detained. Four individuals, including the buyer, are now facing charges.
