Armenian Deputy FM dismissed, new role at UN expected
04 April 2025 15:39
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has dismissed Paruyr Hovhannisyan from his position as Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia.
The decision was signed by Pashinyan on April 4, 2025, according to reports from Armenian media outlets, quoted by Caliber.Az.
The reasons for the dismissal have not been officially disclosed. Hovhannisyan, who was appointed to the Deputy Foreign Minister role on November 9, 2021, had previously served as Armenia’s representative to the Council of Europe.
Sources suggest that Hovhannisyan may be appointed Armenia’s permanent representative to the United Nations, though this has not been officially confirmed.
