Armenian deputy PM calls for easing transit restrictions through Azerbaijan
Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan highlighted the strategic importance of lifting the ban on the transit of goods through Azerbaijani territory.
Speaking at a recent meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in Kazakhstan, Grigoryan said that easing restrictions would create new opportunities for trade, strengthen integration among EAEU member states, and enable more efficient use of transport and logistics routes across the region, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
The discussion also stressed the need for regular assessments of the union’s foreign economic activities and ensuring that the interests of all member states are considered when harmonising national risk management systems.
Grigoryan further noted that new free trade agreements enhance the EAEU’s competitiveness and support sustainable regional economic growth.
