Armenian deserters threaten to open corridor to Karabakh
Participants in the Karabakh wars, who are holding a protest on the Republic Square in Yerevan, have presented the Armenian government with an ultimatum to "deliver humanitarian aid to Karabakh" by 18:00 local time (14:00 GMT).
The former commander of the Khachakirner (Crusaders) detachment, Col Sarkis Poghosyan, said this after a meeting in the government, Caliber.Az reports with reference to the Armenian media.
For more than an hour, members of the detachment and their supporters are at the Armenian government building. They are demanding that steps be taken "to unblock the Lachin corridor, and if this task is not fulfilled, to arm them for the forceful unblocking of the Lachin corridor".
“We will wait for an answer here: if the road is not opened, we will do it by force,” Poghosyan said.
Under the official figure of the Armenian government, during the 44-day war, the Armenian army had 11,000 deserters. And now the same people are talking about "opening a corridor to Azerbaijan".
