Armenian detains Russian oligarch’s party member in voting violation case

Armenia’s Investigative Committee has reported the detention of a representative of the Strong Armenia alliance, which is associated with Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan.

An individual identified as A.S. allegedly attempted to vote twice at polling station 20/56 in the Geghamasar community of the Gegharkunik Province region, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

Authorities said the violation was detected by the voter identification system, after which the individual was detained.

A criminal case has been opened in connection with the incident.
