Armenian economy minister hosts Iranian delegation to boost trade ties
Armenia’s Minister of Economy, Gevork Papoyan, held talks with an Iranian delegation led by the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, Seyed Mohammad Atabak, in Yerevan on August 18.
Papoyan emphasised that Armenia values its neighbourly relations with Iran and sees significant potential for expanding cooperation both at the intergovernmental level and between the business communities of the two countries, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian media.
The meeting focused on ways to increase trade turnover, strengthen business links, and develop logistics routes. The parties also highlighted the Free Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Iran.
Papoyan noted that the agreement’s implementation opens new opportunities for integration and positions Armenia as a key hub for Iranian businesses seeking access to the EAEU single market, enhancing the strategic importance of the bilateral agenda.
The discussions also covered measures to ensure the safe circulation of agricultural products and simplify trade procedures.
