Armenian economy minister says he receives threats after opposition leader murder
Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan has reported receiving threats following the killing of an opposition community leader.
Papoyan made the statement during a conversation with journalists, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
“I receive numerous messages under my social media posts saying things like ‘you must be killed, shot, or have your car blown up.’ Perhaps we are also guilty; perhaps all these cases should be reported to law enforcement,” he noted.
Papoyan called for vigilance, emphasising that the law enforcement system should also take measures to prevent crimes. He assured that the authorities condemn any act of violence.
For the record, on the night of September 23 to 24, opposition community leader Volodya Grigoryan, 42, was killed in the yard of his home in Parakar.
