Armenian ex-premier says West's aid fraction of Russia's contribution
Former Armenian Prime Minister Hrant Bagratyan shared his perspective on financial support to Armenia on his Facebook page, as reported by Caliber.Az.
Expressing satisfaction with Prime Minister Pashinyan's success in Brussels, Bagratyan acknowledged the significant financial aid expected in 2024: 67.5 million euros from the EU, $65 million from the US, and an additional $7 million designated for Karabakh Armenians.
Despite this, Bagratyan juxtaposed these figures with the substantial support from Russia, emphasizing that in 2024, cash inflows from Russia alone would amount to $14 billion, comprising $5 billion in transfers, $8 billion from exports, and $1 billion in fuel subsidies.
He underscored the disparity by stating, "What the West gives is 1 per cent of what comes from Russia," highlighting the comparatively modest contribution from Western sources in contrast to the substantial assistance provided by Russia.
