Armenian flowers dominate Georgia’s import market
Georgia imported a record volume of flowers from Armenia in May, according to data from the country’s statistics service cited by TASS.
A total of 218.2 tonnes of flowers worth $749,900 were purchased from Armenia during the month, marking the highest monthly figure on record.
Imports of cut flowers and buds from Armenia increased 2.9 times compared to May 2025 and rose by 89% compared to April 2026. The previous peak was recorded in March, when imports reached 128.9 tonnes.
The report noted that the imported flowers were not re-exported, with Georgia not shipping any flower products to global markets in May.
Overall, Georgia imported 341.7 tonnes of flowers during the month. Other suppliers included Ecuador (89.3 tonnes), the Netherlands (23.8 tonnes), as well as Kenya, Türkiye, China, South Africa, and Italy, each accounting for less than 10 tonnes.
