Armenian Football Federation penalised for undisciplined behaviour in home qualifiers
The Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) has been fined a total of 13,000 Swiss francs, or about $16,000, by FIFA for incidents that took place during the Armenian national team’s September home matches in the qualifying cycle.
The decisions were published on FIFA’s official website in the Disciplinary Committee Decisions section, Caliber.Az reports.
During the match between Armenia and Portugal on September 6, 2025, which ended 0:5, the FFA was found guilty of infringements related to undisciplined behaviour by the team, disturbances of order and security, pitch invasion or attempted invasion, and the use of pyrotechnics. Under Articles 17, 17.2.c, 17.2.a, and 14.5 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, a fine of CHF 12,000 was imposed.
In the Armenia versus Ireland match on September 9, 2025, which finished 2:1, the FFA was fined an additional CHF 1,000 for breaches of order and safety in the stadium and for the use of pyrotechnics, in accordance with Articles 17 and 17.2.c of the code.
The total amount of fines imposed on the Football Federation of Armenia, therefore, amounts to CHF 13,000, equivalent to approximately $16,000.
