Armenian fraudster general remains behind bars
The former commander of the 3rd Army Corps of the Armenian Armed Forces, Maj Gen Grigori Khachaturov, has had his arrest extended for another three months.
Grigory Khachaturov is on trial in the case of former Defence Minister, head of the "Armenia" parliamentary faction Seyran Ohanyan and 11 other persons, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
As part of the criminal proceedings, the former Defence Minister is charged with embezzlement on a particularly large scale and abuse of official powers, which negligently led to grave consequences.
Charges were also brought against Manuk Vardanyan, former head of the Armenian Cadastre Committee (abuse of official powers, which recklessly led to grave consequences), Grigory Khachaturov, former commander of the unit (large-scale money laundering and abuse of official powers), and D. G. Moston Engineering Company Director (large-scale fraud and forgery of documents).
