Armenian futsal player insults Ukraine team after Euro 2026 match
Players of Ukraine’s national futsal team displayed disrespectful behaviour toward their Armenian opponents during their match at the European Championship, particularly toward Armenian players who compete in Russia, Match TV reports, citing a source.
According to the report, the incident came to light on January 23, when Armenia futsal international Denis Nevedrov allegedly made offensive remarks about the Ukrainian national team following the first group-stage match of Euro 2026. Nevedrov reportedly referred to the Ukrainian team as “losers” and also used an obscene expression.
In response, the Armenian side rejected Ukraine’s accusations. Armenian officials sent a letter to the Union of European Football Associations denying the claims made by the Ukrainian delegation.
The match itself ended in a 2–1 victory for Armenia over Ukraine.
