Armenian general detained in Moscow

Maj-Gen Mihran Poghosyan, the former head of Armenia's Penitentiary Service, has been detained in Moscow.

He is wanted in Armenia for crimes under nine articles, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

According to Armenian media, the official was stopped on November 19 afternoon on Tverskaya Street by traffic police officers.

“He had a refugee ID with him. The central office of the Armenian police has already announced his arrest, and Mihran will soon be extradited from Russia. Moreover, the Russian side previously rejected a request to send Poghosyan home,” the statement says.
