Armenian government considers taking Russian TV off the air

The Armenian authorities are discussing the issue of dropping the Russian channels from the national service, Lusine Badalyan, a deputy from the ruling Civil Contract faction, said.

The relevant departments will make a statement on the decision, Armenia media quoted her as saying, Caliber.Az reports.

The MP pointed out that the issue of closing Russian TV channels in the republic has been discussed for a long time, it was even raised at the plenary sessions of the National Assembly (Parliament).

In Armenia, the Russian First Channel, RTR Planeta, Russia, Culture and the Mir Interstate are broadcast through the public multiplex.
