Two deputy ministers detained in Russia’s Krasnodar for embezzled funds

Law enforcement authorities in Russia’s Krasnodar region have detained two deputy ministers of transport.

The officials are suspected of embezzling budget funds in the execution of government contracts, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

Separately, Evgeny Barishevsky, mayor of Zvezdny Gorodok in Moscow region and accused of accepting a large bribe, was placed under house arrest.

Investigators had requested pretrial detention, but the Tver Court opted for house arrest. If convicted, Barishevsky faces up to 12 years in prison.
