Caspian Pipeline Consortium CEO inspects offshore loading unit repairs
Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) CEO Nikolay Gorban inspected ongoing scheduled repairs at WPU-3 (offshore loading unit) and preparations for the dismantling of WPU-2 at the CPC terminal.
He met with terminal staff to discuss response procedures in case of threats, emphasising that employee safety and the well-being of all workers remain the top priority, Caliber.Az reports via Kazakh media.
CPC transports 80% of Kazakhstan’s export oil. In November, one of its three offshore loading berths, WPU-2, was damaged, and oil shipments are currently handled through WPU-1.
The CPC terminal had already recorded attacks in the November period, as well as in September and February of the previous year.
Additional pressure came from Russian disruptions: after attacks on Lukoil platforms, exports from Russia via the Caspian fell by 150,000 barrels per day.
