Kazakhstan’s Karaganda region battles multiple wildfires VIDEO

More than 400 people and over 100 units of equipment have been deployed to battle wildfires in Kazakhstan’s Karaganda region, where several grass and shrub fires remain active.

Eight wildfires covering approximately 200 hectares were extinguished in the region over the past 24 hours, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kazakh media.

Firefighters are currently working to contain five additional fires in mountainous and steppe areas of the Shet, Bukhar-Zhyrau and Karkaraly districts.

High temperatures, gusty winds and difficult terrain are complicating firefighting efforts. An operational headquarters is working around the clock to coordinate the response, while the situation remains under the control of the Kazakh Ministry of Emergency Situations.
