Armenia advances talks with Azerbaijan, Türkiye in parallel, top diplomat says
The processes of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and between Armenia and Türkiye, are progressing in parallel and have already yielded tangible results, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated.
As Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media, Mirzoyan made the statement during a session of the National Assembly while responding to questions from lawmakers.
“As part of our political agenda, we are pursuing two separate settlement processes. In both, we have achieved tangible progress, clearly formulated ideas, and outlined expectations regarding the next steps and final outcomes. We affirm that, as a political agenda, they are not conditional upon one another,” Mirzoyan said.
The Armenian foreign minister also noted that close ties between Ankara and Baku are no secret.
“In a sense, we must acknowledge this connection… I believe that if today we have reached an agreement with Azerbaijan and taken another step forward in strengthening or institutionalizing peace, we can continue these steps without waiting for developments in the normalization of relations with Türkiye,” Mirzoyan added.
