Armenian investigators uncover alleged voter bribery network

18 June 2026 12:46

Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee has launched a criminal investigation after uncovering evidence of an alleged vote-buying scheme involving members of the Strong Armenia party.

Investigators said they obtained factual evidence indicating that individuals serving as officials at the party’s Kanaker-Zeytun district office in Yerevan allegedly acted in collusion with party supporters and a group of cooperating individuals to promise and distribute election bribes to voters, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

The Strong Armenia party is associated with Russian-Armenian businessman Samvel Karapetyan.

According to the Anti-Corruption Committee, criminal proceedings have been initiated in connection with the case. Several individuals have been detained, while law enforcement authorities have carried out searches and other investigative measures as part of the ongoing inquiry.
