Armenian media reports on Western ambassadors expressing dismay with Pashinyan's party

Several international organizations have forwarded a note of protest to Armenia’s ruling party of the “Civil Contract” (CC) regarding statements by its members on the upcoming elections, announcing that they will win and elect the next mayor while the elections have not been held yet.

Caliber.Az reports on this citing the local Zhokhovurd publication.

“We have tried to verify this information with a party member of the CC, Deputy Leader Gevork Papoyan. He replied that he does not possess such information. ‘I am hearing this for the first time from you’.

Another member, also deputy leader of the fraction, Vaahn Aleksanyan, replied to our question, stating ‘Of course, if we announced his candidacy, it means we are confident that he will succeed. But, to be honest, I don’t remember the representatives of the government making such statements, and even receiving ‘notes of protest’ for them.

We recall, that ambassadors of Western countries started to express their dissatisfaction after the falsification of the CC’s leadership elections. The distrust by representatives of democratic countries in the election process started after the scheming of the ruling party”, the publication wrote.
