Armenian militant group ringleader accuses Russia of betrayal, inaction

05 March 2024 12:07

In a shocking revelation, the leader of the Armenian Yerkrapah terrorist organization, Sasun Mikayelyan, has accused Russia of betrayal and inaction in recent years, stating that the country has effectively torn Armenia apart.

Addressing Armenian journalists on March 5th, Mikayelyan expressed profound disappointment in Russia's failure to protect those who had placed their trust in them unequivocally, Caliber.Az reports.

“Today, I’ll tell you straight, three of our presidents (leaders of the Karabakh separatists - ed.), the former commander of the ‘Defence Army’ and other people (terrorists - ed.) were taken prisoner. I don’t want to politicize, but let’s understand that today the people in captivity are people who trusted the Russians 100%. And the Russians could not transport them to Armenia,” Mikayelyan said.

The Yerkrapah leader further criticized the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), asserting that the alliance had been woefully ineffective in safeguarding Armenia's interests in recent years.

Mikayelyan became so carried away by the thought that he accused Russia of “tearing us to pieces” over the past six years. “A clear evidence of this is that three of our presidents (leaders of the separatists - ed.) were captured by the enemy,” Mikayelyan added.
