Armenian MoD, EU Military Committee discuss defence cooperation

Armenian Defence Minister Suren Papikyan discussed with the chairman of the EU Military Committee, General Robert Briger, cooperation with the EU in the defence sphere.

The press service of the Armenian Defence Ministry reports that the meeting was held on May 29 within the framework of the Shuman Forum on Security and Defence, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.

The participants of the meeting agreed to develop cooperation in spheres of mutual interest.

The Defence Minister informed the head of the EU Military Committee on the progress of the reforms of the Armenian Armed Forces.

The sides also discussed issues related to regional security.

Earlier, within the framework of his working visit to Belgium, Papikian visited the central office of John Cockerill Company, which, in particular, is engaged in the production, repair and modernisation of armaments and military equipment.
