Armenian MP embroiled in corruption scandal over cattle export violations
Armenian MP Hovik Aghazaryan, a member of the ruling Civil Contract parliamentary faction, has become embroiled in a corruption scandal concerning alleged misconduct related to the export of short horn cattle from Armenia, reportedly circumventing established procedures.
This controversy raises serious legal questions as law enforcement agencies and the Prosecutor's Office prepare to evaluate Aghazaryan's actions in the context of ongoing pre-trial proceedings, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian sources.
The scandal is not Aghazaryan's first brush with controversy. Several months ago, reports emerged regarding a woman who claimed to have provided the MP with a substantial sum of money in exchange for assistance in securing a construction permit from the City Hall. Aghazaryan vehemently denied these allegations, labeling them as unfounded slander.
