Armenian newspaper regrets investments in Lachin after Baku-Moscow-Yerevan ceasefire deal
Armenia's Zhokhovurd newspaper has devoted another article to the Azerbaijani city of Lachin and its Zabukh village, which will get under Azerbaijan's control.
Armenians living there must leave those territories by August 25.
"The rationale is that after the trilateral statement of November 9 (10), 2020, signed between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, it was already clear that these territories should also be surrendered. That is, it became known about the withdrawal from these territories about two years ago, but during this time a large amount of investment was invested in the village, and a school and a kindergarten were rebuilt. We are talking about investing about $300,000," the newspaper writes.
In an interview with a correspondent of the newspaper, Zabukh village "head" Andranik Chavushyan confirmed the information that various investments have been made in the village over the past year and a half. At the same time, Chavushyan said that if it was initially known that the village would return to Azerbaijan, then why were these games with investments and with people's emotions needed?
